In love with the manga by Riyoko Ikeda (She’s also behind The Rose of Versailles!) and how it portrays gender dysphoria.
It made me so incredibly happy to see a trans man assuming himself fully, being treated with respect (based on 1978 Japan terminology of course), not being infantilized for the really bad actions and not being scared of saying explicitely he’s trans. THE STORY SAYS EXPLICETELY HE’S TRANS!!! Ikeda went into my hall of fame artists for that and I’m on my way to collect all of her works :D!
(ID: Two pictures depict Claudine from the manga of the same name by Riyoko Ikeda. The left picture has digitally-made ambiant colors added on a traditionnal lineart made with a squared-nibbed pen, while the right picture shows a black and white version of the lineart.
The left picture has watercolored soft sploshes of colors using a purple, cyan and light green color palette. The lineart has been colored blue.
The right picture shows the full details of the original lineart. Claudine is sitting on a chair, looking to the left. He’s holding a small champagne glass with his left hand, while the right hand rests on his leg crossed on top. He wears a smoking with a bow tie, which rests on a partially visible laced frilly shirt. His short and wavy hair have a few hair falling between his eyes, accentuating his aloof look. The chair is decorated à la French, with leaves and a lilly flower being worked in the woodwork. A cushion is seen from the folds appearing from Claudine’s back resting on it. A watermark reading @/whyiamapotato is written along Claudine’s right forearm.
Overall, the details and weighted lines, along with Claudine’s sophisticated pose and allof look, create a meticulous and elegant vibe. The colored version, with its cool and unatural colors, twist the vibe to a magical feeling./End ID)
